门头沟地处北京西部山区,自然生态资源丰富,是首都天然绿色生态屏障。“十一五”期间,按照北京市对门头沟区生态涵养发展区的功能定位,门头沟区本着“修山补山,以绿造景,养山富民”的思想,狠抓“生态立区”战略方针的落实工作,进行生态环境综合治理。
