上升速度很迅速开发开放前的浦东新区,分属上海市的三区(杨浦、黄浦和南市)两县(川沙县和上海县)。沿江城市化地区面积仅39平方公里,占全市城市化地区的10.6%,常住人口138.8万,占全市人口的10.40%。 当时,浦东的住宅社区主要是潍坊、梅园、歇浦路、沪东南码头和周家渡、上钢新村。住宅的类型主要是两大类,一类是居民自建的简屋棚户,另一类是新工房。浦西人讲“不要浦东一套房”,说实在的,浦东当时值得浦西人要的“一套房” 也并不多。
