在我艺术生涯的几十年中,我创作了一百多个角色。在她们之中有不畏强暴,敢于向清政府宣战的“鉴湖女侠”——秋瑾(电影《热血忠魂》拍于1935年);有唯利是图,梦想发财而落得一场空的小职员老婆——吴美中(电影《新旧上海》拍于1936年);有放浪风骚,可悲、可怜、可恨的抗战夫人,交际花——王丽珍(电影《一江春水向东流》拍于1947年)。我对这些角色的情感,不亚于我对儿女的爱,这是因为我在创作她们的过程中曾和她们共同生活、共同呼吸、共同度过了患难与幸福,我的全部生命已熔化在角色之中……下面是我的表演日记,其中具体地谈了我创作角色的体会,现在经整理之后献给热爱艺术事业的人们: 微笑的后面——扮演《一江春水向东流》里的王丽珍微笑,交际花王丽珍的脸上总不时的露出一丝
In my decades of artistic career, I created more than 100 characters. Among them is a “Kam Lake Woman” who is not afraid of rape and who dares to declare war on the Qing government - Qiu Jin (film “Blood and Loyalty” was taken in 1935); there is a mercenary figure, - Wu Mei-chung (film “Old and New Shanghai” in 1936); there is a radiant, pathetic, pitiful, and hateful wife of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Wang Hua-lin (film “Spring Flow of the Yangtze River” took in 1947). My affection for these characters is no less than my love for my children. This is because I had lived with them in the process of creating them, breathed together, and jointly weathered the afflictions and the happiness. All my life has melted. Character ...
