南越王墓出土的陶鱼是同时期出土此类器物较多的一座墓。陶鱼的形制较为特殊,一般均为中空,在鱼腹部填充沙砾。有陶鱼随葬的墓虽然不多,但从分布范围来看,是相当广泛的。这种不起眼的小物件,随葬在墓中。当有其特殊含义。结合出土背景及其它墓葬发现的材料,一般随葬有该类器的墓都是规模大且随葬品丰富的墓葬,所以我们认为随葬此类器的墓主当是具有一定社会地位的贵族阶层。从大的背景看,反应出了当时“视死如生”的社会观念。也可能是引导墓主进入另外一个世界的媒介。 Nanyue tomb unearthed pottery is the same period more unearthed a tomb of such artifacts.
