Yoshiro Sasaki, president of the Japan Titanium Association, told the association’s fortieth anniversary that the demand for titanium will increase by one to two times that of the present century by the beginning of the next century. But it depends on reducing production costs and developing new technology applications. Energy saving, energy development, environmental protection and non-maintenance parts manufacturing are four major areas for developing new uses of titanium. In terms of energy saving, titanium can find a wide range of uses in the automotive industry, such as reducing the weight of a car and being recyclable. by
