明代耳饰可别作两类,其一耳环,其一耳坠。明王圻等编《三才图会》在“内外命妇冠服”一项画出“环”的式样,可以代表明代耳环之一般。耳环用作簪戴的细弯钩,明人称作脚。明《礼部志稿》卷二十“皇太子纳妃仪”的纳征礼物中,有“金脚四珠环一双”、“梅花环一双”,其下并注“金脚五钱重”,即此。似乎还可以说,耳环比耳坠更为正式。《明史》卷六七《舆服三》所列品官命妇冠服,耳饰均为坏;又故宫旧藏明代皇后画像,与凤冠霞帔相配的几乎都是耳环,皆可为证。典型的明式
