In existing tumor radiotherapy equipment, linear accelerators are equipped with wedge plates of various specifications, and wedge plates are widely used for multiple-field combined irradiation. The addition of a wedge plate is equivalent to the addition of a filter, which filters out some of the low-energy components of the X-rays to harden the radiography, increasing the percent depth (PDD), and the maximum dose (Dmax).
