我父亲贾祖璋,1901年出生于浙江省海宁州(现为海宁市)东南钱塘江畔的黄湾镇,卒于1988年。父亲一生勤奋好学,从青年时代直至晚年,在科普创作园地辛勤笔耕,写下了大量科普文章,出版了《鸟与文学》、《生物素描》等20多部科普著作。他于1924年进入商务印书馆,又是一位老编辑、老出版工作者,从旧中国直到新中国,60余载献身图书出版事业,贡献了自己毕生的精力。进入商务印书馆父亲于1920年毕业于浙江省立第一师范学校,随后在本县的两所小学任教,并且开始向《时事新报·学灯》、《民国日报·觉悟》以及杨贤江主编的《学生杂志》报寄科普作品。 My father, Jia Zu Zhang, was born in 1901 in Huangwan, a town on the Qiantang River in the southeast of Haining, Zhejiang (now Haining), and died in 1988.
