This Tokyo, Japan-based villa is actually a two-storied house. This three-storey two-unit home is located in a very small area of Tokyo’s city center. The architect crammed two occupants into the 31-square-meter site. The building forms a gable-like configuration based on the restrictions on the north side of the site. The house is divided into two parts by a S-shaped wall in the plane. Because of the symmetrical shape of the center, the two units are exactly the same. Diagonal partitions and high ceilings give visitors a sense of spaciousness and improve their small size. This form also gives the bathroom wet area enough area and more space for the living room.
