To understand whether androgen secreted by the ovaries also increase the amount of urinary calcium excretion. The levels of estrogen and androgens were measured by radioimmunoassay before and after operation in 21 cases of premenopausal and postoperative ovariectomized patients. The urinary calcium excretion was also observed. RESULTS: Thirteen patients with bilateral ovaries were resected before menopause. The estradiol (E2) level was significantly decreased and the level of androgen (T) decreased slightly. The excretion of urinary calcium was significantly increased. Postmenopausal resection of bilateral ovaries in 7 cases, postoperative testosterone (1) levels were significantly lower, urinary calcium and creatinine ratio (Ca / Cr) was significantly increased. Shows that decreased estrogen significantly increased urinary calcium excretion. Postmenopausal ovarian secretion is still a certain amount of androgen, which also plays a role in osteoporosis in women.
