This article studies the effect of non-metallic inclusions on the fracture toughness of hot die steel. The test materials are AISI H13 and H1 steel. The paper discusses the formation of cavities under different sizes of crack tip strain area and the average spacing of inclusions, and discusses the changes of fracture toughness of the die steel with various tempering hardness through the discussion. The results show that the uniformly distributed non-metallic inclusions in the high-hardness steel after tempering at low temperature will not decrease or even increase the fracture toughness slightly. In the low-tempering steel after tempering at higher temperature, the non-metallic inclusions The effect is affected by the precipitation of carbides from the martensite, while carbides and non-gold
