中国当代画廊业的重新兴起,是旅游业兴起而派生出的副产品。随着二十多年前的国门开放,大批外国及港台观光客涌入中国,他们所购买的纪念品中有很多就是所谓的“画”。这些“画”大多由半职业化的工匠成批制作生产,然后通过只“对外开放”的旅游商店出售给境外游客。著名的风景胜地--桂林率先滋生出了一大批旅游式画廊,然后向全国各个旅游点传播扩散。
The revival of the contemporary Chinese gallery industry is a by-product of the rise of tourism. With the opening up of the nation more than 20 years ago and the influx of a large number of tourists from foreign countries and Hong Kong and Taiwan into China, many of the souvenirs they purchase are called “paintings.” Most of these “paintings” are produced in batches by semi-professional artisans and then sold to foreign tourists at tourist shops that are only open to the public. The famous scenic spot - Guilin pioneered a large number of tourist galleries, and then spread to various tourist spots throughout the country.
