一、基本情况 宽城县位于河北省承德地区东南部的“万里长城”北侧,是燕山山脉东南端的一个石质深山区。西岔沟村位于县城西25华里的鸭嘴山下,总面积1.95万余亩。全村居住在13华里长的独立小流域单元内。有280户,1381人。现有耕地1456亩,占总面积的8.1%。1966年前,地是坡耕地,山上仅有松、柞残疏林地80亩,占荒山面积的0.48%。地瘦产量低,年年要吃国家返销粮7～8万斤;花钱靠贷款,生活靠救济,村里连买办公用纸和灯油的钱都没有,穷冒了尖。
