七里峡构造带是川东石炭系高陡构造带之一.主体构造为一典型的狭长地垒背斜,虽已获五灵山和高桥两个气藏,但圈闭气充满度低.这主要是受两翼倾轴逆断层(倾向背斜轴部的逆断层)所限,气只能从狭窄地垒背斜轴部下伏志留系气源层向上和从构造两端进入圈闭.天然气主要富集于主体构造两侧的低潜圈闭(经地震发现的闭合高度相对较小的潜伏圈闭),已发现双家坝和胡家坝两个气藏.这两个气藏不仅气产量高,而且圈闭气充满度也高,其原因除保存条件好外,更重要的是圈闭紧邻宽向斜,捕获气的范围广,气源丰富.本区主体构造两侧尚有较多不同类型的低潜圈闭未探,前景乐观.
