Objective To investigate the effect and nursing of mild hypothermia on cerebral resuscitation in patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Methods A total of 42 patients with cardiopulmonary resuscitation were randomly divided into experimental group (n = 21) and control group (n = 21). Whole body hypothermia was used in the experimental group while the control group was given local cooling with wearing ice cap. The therapeutic effect and the incidence of complications in both groups were observed. Results After 5 days of resuscitation, GCS score of whole body hypothermia group was significantly higher than that of local head cooling group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Whole body hypothermia is a safe and effective method for brain resuscitation after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is worthy of clinical application. It is of great importance to improve the quality of life in patients with mild hypothermia.
