改革十年来,晋城市乡镇企业在党的正确路线、方针、政策指引下,积极依靠广大群众,充分发挥本地优势,坚持从实际出发,生产有了较大发展,企业面貌发生了巨大变化,取得了比较显著的成就。到1988年底,全市乡镇企业总数已达32133个,总产值达到14.12亿元,比1978年增长7.24倍,占全市工农业总产值的61.2％;乡镇企业总收入达到11.86亿元,占全市农村经济总收入的76.1％。从业劳动力为25.5万个,占全市农村劳动力总数的40％。十年来,全市乡镇企业上缴国家税利3.1亿元,提供支农建农和集镇建设资金2.18亿元。改革使乡镇企业在全市经济发展战略中发挥着愈来愈重要的作用。

The employed labor force is 255,000, accounting for 40% of the total rural labor force in the city. In the past ten years, the township enterprises in the city turned over 310 million yuan of state taxes and profits, providing 218 million yuan of funds for supporting agriculture and town construction. The reform has enabled township enterprises to play an increasingly important role in the economic development strategy of the city.
