一、概述继电器控制的纵横制交换机(以下简称为纵横制)是,用纵横接线器做通话电路的主要元件、用继电器做控制电路的主要元件而构成的自动电话交换机.1913年莱诺得氏(J.N.Reyholds)发明纵横接线器.1919年瑞典的培杜兰杰(G.A.Betulander)和巴尔姆格莱(N.Palmgren)研究改进纵横接线器的构造,达到可以使用的程度,同时又研究了扩大接线器出线容量的中继链路方式以后,纵横制才得到广泛利用的价值.
