法国大革命前后出现了一种“报道文体”绘画,它不但具有艺术通常所具备的审美性,还具备了与新闻同样的大众媒介功能。这些作品在沙龙展出时对公众传播着对当代事件的认识和看法,其影响甚至远远超过一般的文字类新闻报道。从《马拉之死》到《自由领导人民》,这种绘画跨越了不同的风格流派,它们强烈地震憾了当时的公众,其作用如同新闻报道一样向社会传播了信息,把真实传递给大众。这些绘画表明了图像的巨大力量,给身处信息时代的我们以某种启示。
Before and after the French Revolution, a kind of “report style” painting appeared. It not only possessed the aesthetic qualities that art usually possessed, but also possessed the same mass media function as news. These works spread their awareness and perception of contemporary events to the public when they were being exhibited in Sharon, and their impact far exceeded that of ordinary text-based news reports. From “The Death of Mara” to “Free Leadership of the People,” this painting crossed different genres and schools. They strongly shocked the public at that time and played the same role as news coverage in sending messages to the community and sending the truth to the public . These paintings show the immense power of the image, giving some revelation to us in the information age.
