“哈莱姆文艺复兴”出现于20世纪初的美国,主要表现为非裔美国文学和艺术史无前例的繁荣和创造力。它是20世纪非裔美国文学和文化史上最具意义的事件之一,在当今的美国学界被誉为非裔美国人文化生活中最富艺术创造力的历史时期;同时,它也是美国黑人文化史上一次极为复杂、备受争议的历史事件。迄今为止,“哈莱姆文艺复兴”的参与者和研究者从未就此次事件的确切起止时间、性质及其作用和影响达成共识。本文试图就哈莱姆文艺复兴的时间界定进行一定的探讨,同时结合社会、经济、政治与文化等方面的因素来分析哈莱姆是如何逐步成为美国黑人首府和政治文化中心的。
“Harlem Renaissance ” appeared in the early 20th century in the United States, mainly manifested in the unprecedented prosperity and creativity of African American literature and art. It is one of the most significant events in the history of African-American literature and culture in the 20th century. It has been hailed as the richest artistic creativity of African-American cultural life in today’s American academic community. At the same time, it is also a part of African American culture An extremely complicated and controversial historical event in history. To date, participants and researchers in the Harlem Renaissance have never reached a consensus on the exact start and end, the nature and the role and impact of the incident. This article tries to make some discussions on the definition of the time of Harlem Renaissance and at the same time analyzes how Harlem gradually became the capital and center of African American culture in combination with social, economic, political and cultural factors.
