During VF, coronary blood flow produced by closed-chest CPR is insufficient to maintain myocardial oxygenation. Past research has shown that propafol reduces myocardial oxygen demand and increases coronary perfusion pressure at CPR. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of β-adrenergic blockers on defibrillation and left ventricular function after resuscitation at CPR. Methods Twenty-two dogs, mean body weight 20.7 kg (range 17.3-24.5 kg), were randomly divided into two groups.
