Objective To understand the prevalence of diabetes and pre-diabetes in adults in Tianjin City and provide a scientific basis for the prevention of diabetes and pre-diabetes in this area. Methods A total of 16 368 residents aged 20-89 years living in Tianjin from January to December in 2016 at the First Central Hospital of Tianjin were enrolled in the study. Their physical examination and blood biochemistry Indicator detection. SPSS 17.0 was used for statistical analysis. The t test was used to compare the measurement data of two groups. The comparison of count data was tested by χ ~ 2 test. Use the 2016 national population composition as the standard population rate of standardization. Results There were 9,503 males (mean age 49.7 ± 14.7) and 6 865 females (mean age 47.5 ± 14.4), with no significant difference between men and women (P> 0.05 ). The prevalence rates of diabetes and pre-diabetes were 6.98% and 20.97% respectively in the medical check-up population, and were 6.46% and 19.63% respectively after the standardization. The prevalences of diabetes and pre-diabetes in men were 8.29% and 23.72%, respectively, and were 7.09 %, 20.91% respectively. The prevalence of diabetes and pre-diabetes in women was 5.16% and 17.17%, respectively, and were 5.58% and 17.81% respectively after standardization. The detection rate of diabetes and pre-diabetes were significantly higher in women than in women (P <0.01). The prevalence of diabetes and pre-diabetes increased with age, overweight or obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes The detection rate of family history of patients was significantly higher than the normal population, the differences were statistically significant (P <0.01). Conclusion The detection rate of diabetes and pre-diabetes in adults in Tianjin is at a high level, which requires high attention and early intervention to reduce the incidence of diabetes and pre-diabetes.
