帧中继(Frame Relay)是90年代投入运用的一种新的计算机通信方式。帧中继主要是适应日益大量增加的网络和系统终端或PC机,以及网络间互连通信的需求而发展起来的新技术。帧中继的透明性高,以及智能终端已经有能力处理智能终端至主计算机之间的通信和有关协议或规程。帧中继采用的规程和协议比X.25简单,简化了一些处理过程,只采用ISO OSI的第一层和第二层,第三层不做任何处理。
Frame Relay is a new computer communication method put into operation in the 90s. Frame relay is mainly to adapt to the ever-increasing network and system terminals or PC, as well as the interconnection between the network communication needs of the development of new technologies. The transparency of the Frame Relay is high, and the smart terminal has the ability to handle the communication and related protocols or procedures between the smart terminal and the host computer. The protocols and protocols used by Frame Relay are simpler than X.25, simplifying some of the processing, using only the first and second layers of ISO OSI, and the third layer without any processing.
