作家们说:读者并不一定总是对的。然而,无视读者的作家必定是错的。我觉得这句话同样适用于编辑工作。上海文艺出版社的《文艺鉴赏大成》一书,自1988年底投放市场后,一直受到读者的热情关注。初版35000册,一销而空;重印35000册,还是供不应求;在图书市场严重疲软的情况下,第三次又印了6000册,依然销势喜人;现在即将第四次开印。这本书何以能长销不衰呢?我想围绕读者问题,对本书的出版过程,作点简单的回顾。
Writers say readers are not always right. However, writers who ignore the reader must be wrong. I think the same applies to editorial work. Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House “literary appreciation Dacheng” a book, put on the market since the end of 1988, has been the reader’s enthusiasm. The first edition of 35,000 volumes, one empty; reprint 35,000, or in short supply; the serious book market in the case of weakness, the third and printed 6,000, is still selling potential gratification; now the forthcoming fourth print. Why is this book long-term sales are not bad? I want to focus on readership issues, book publishing process, make a simple review.
