澳门半岛、仔岛和路环岛组成现在的澳门地区。自秦以降，历属番禺、东莞等县管辖。葡萄牙人自1553年入居澳门后，得寸进尺，逐渐扩张，蚕食中国领土主权。鸦片战争后，葡萄牙殖民者强迫清政府签订不平等条约强占澳门。中国人民数百年来为收回澳门进行了种种反抗。新中国建立后，经过不懈斗争和外交谈判，终使这一问题获得圆满解决。澳门即将回到祖国怀抱，并将进一步促进中国的统一大业。
