运用Lecia S8APO体视显微镜观察8个品种榧树生长期种子的横切面、纵切面以及成熟种子的外种皮。结果表明,可以排除“榧眼”是“原气孔带的区域”和“假种皮薄的区域”这两种关于“榧眼”起源的猜测,也可以排除对“榧眼”是萌发孔、种脐或薄壁细胞等多种关于其功能的猜测;同时发现“榧眼”具有明显增厚的结构,而中间具有2个凹点,且有浅沟相连,这一结构可能对榧树的祖先是适应的。
