Describes the various factors that affect the performance of ROFIBUS fieldbus, such as termination resistance, unused standard cables, transmission rates and distances, shielding and grounding, cabling, and more. The paper expounds how to use the BT200 tool to test the hardware, and how to diagnose various faults on the ProfiCoach, ProfiTrace and STEP 7 software diagnostic bus. Finally, an application example is given and the packet data analysis is carried out. This set of diagnostic schemes applicable to PROFIBUS network failure can provide theory and method for the practical engineering application of PROFIBUS-DP control system.
