This article describes a new sensor solution that adapts to the light weight and low cost requirements of small satellites. These programs address the sTS01 Earth Sensor and the SED15P Star Tracker, which were designed by SODERN in accordance with the contract between the French Ministry of Industry and the National Center for Aerospace Research (CNEs). According to the applicable scope of the earth sensor, several specific comparison of several modern technologies of the heat detector are made, and then the reserved devices are introduced with emphasis on the main features. The article also provides an overview of a novel and unique approach to electronic device placement in plastic encapsulated commercial devices that is suitable for star trackers with large field-of-view structures, such as the SED15.
