SS1机车主断路器主阀是一种排气式平衡阀,当主断路器处在工作状态时(闭合位),如图1所示,它的活塞8右边是充满风的。断开主断路器时,右边的风迅速排除,压力下降,使得阀门4打开,压缩空气进入灭弧室、打开动静触头并进行灭弧;同时另一路风通过延时阀进入传动风缸,使隔离开关打开并断开分闸电磁铁的电源,起动阀复原,主阀关闭,灭弧室的动静触头重新闭合。这就要求活塞8必须密封性能好、动作灵活性能强。
