老舍极具东方风情与鲜明民族特色的叙事性书写,不仅在中国文坛独具一格,而且引起了西方译者的广泛关注和译介推广。但以伊文·金为代表的西方译者基于其本土的语言文化立场,对老舍的小说作品进行了一系列具有明显译入语文化烙印的译介与重构,并使其在跨语际的传播与旅行中满足了西方目标读者后殖民视域下的审美想象,及其对东方异质文化的阅读期待,而老舍作品中根深蒂固的民族意识和深层的文化批判精神却几乎完全被忽视、被边缘化。
