Recently, Porsche is testing a semi-automated system called the InnoDrive that will test the Panamera Turbo coupe. Allegedly, it is more efficient than human pilots and allows vehicles to reach higher speeds. Built on the Porsche Adaptive Cruise Control, the system receives topographic and traffic information from navigation satellites and data collected by on-board cameras, radars and other sensors, resulting in a complete picture of the surrounding environment. The Inno Drive system automatically controls the throttle and brake but still requires the driver to complete the steering and select the desired driving mode from among three options: high performance, comfort and high power. Once activated, the system allows differential control of the vehicle according to different driving modes: maximizing fuel economy in high-performance mode, minimizing uncomfortable centrifugal forces and vibrations in comfort mode, high power
