There are two versions of Liangzhou Ruyi Cause Story: “Continuation of monks biography” and Tang Tianbao “Liangzhou Yuanshi Shifu Rui cause of mind.” The former adds the character “Li Shiren” on the basis of the former, and the discussion of the academic circle has been triggered after the publication of the inscription. By combing, we can see that “Li Shiren” is actually a fictional character derived from the story of Liu Sahe and Liang Zhou Rui in the midst of Hexi folk communication in the Middle Ages. Its prototype is “Lishi Man” Saha: Liu Sa is native to Lhasa, while in ancient times, “Li Shiren” and “Lishi Man” are similar or identical in pronunciation; their biographies also have common features, leaving a shadow in Tang novel. The production of “Li Shiren” reflects the layered nature of historical writing and also shows the characteristics of oral literature.
