连环画创作和出版工作,建国以来有着很大的成绩,曾出现过许多优秀的连环画。在“四人帮”法西斯文化专制主义统治下,连环画创作和出版工作曾受到很大破坏;即使如此,忠于毛主席革命路线的画家也曾取得了可喜的成就。 连环画作为一个普及的画种,出版以百万、千万以至亿万册计数,与人民群众的密切联系是其它画种难以比较的。 考虑到连环画创作和出版的成就及其不可忽视的重要性,本刊在这一期中选发了一些优秀作品,并发表了关于《白求恩在中国》和《我要读书》的创作经验介绍和评论文章,以示提倡——特别是这些作者在深入生活,从生活出发刻划人物方面有着可贵的成就和经验,值得推广。同时,也借此机会,向长期坚持连环画创作、长期从事连环画脚本改编和创作的画家和作者,表示敬意!我们希望美术界、出版界的领导人对于连环画画家的培养、创作队伍的建设更加重视起来,对于连环画脚本创作和改编工作以及出版工作更加重视起来。 不要忘了鲁迅先生的遗教: 连环图画“……可以产出密开朗该罗、达文希那样伟大的画手。” Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, great achievements have been made in the creation and publication of comic books.
