DL—杀虫剂是以邻二氯苯为主要原料,加微量敌敌畏制得。过去,邻二氯苯主要用作除硫剂,染料工业上,用作蜡类的溶剂等。熔点—17.03℃,沸点180.5℃,比重1.3059。据文献记载邻二氯苯有低毒(对家免静脉注射致死量为500mg/kg),但作杀虫剂,毒力还是远远不够的。1978年,笔者在一次偶然的机会,发现在邻二氯苯中,加入微量敌敌畏时,会使邻二氯苯,具有很强的杀虫作用。为了进一步证实这一点,1978—1979连续两年对不同虫种进行了多次反复试验,结果证明,在邻二氯苯中,加入2%的敌敌畏原油,就可使邻二氯苯的毒力,提高12—13倍,使邻二氯苯由一般的化工原料,上升到一种良好的杀虫剂的地位。这不仅增加了杀虫剂的品种,而且廉价易得。因此说杀虫剂—DL是个大有前途的新杀虫剂。
