世界上不存在孤立的事物, 没有直接联系的就是通过“中介”的间接联系。哲学上讲的“中介”具有沟通性和过渡性。世界上的万事万物正是通过“中介”而普遍联系在一起的。比如炎夏vs“剃了度”的波斯猫;烈日vs罢工的空调;针织手艺vs冰爽甜饮……美国艺术家Ed Bing Lee的创意系列应用纺织材料及编织技巧呈现出日常食物的别样情态,不知能否在暑热当头时带给看客您通感移觉的凉爽。
1.ZEST:这个针织食品的灵感动机是从何而来的?
Ed Bing Lee: 作品的前身是个较早的组合,它结合了修拉的绘画和食品。名为野餐。
ZEST:What inspires your idea of this series(delectables series)?
Ed Bing Lee:Grew out of an earlier group, combining Seurat's painting and food.Series titled Picnic

Ed Bing Lee: 幽默感是先决条件,我选择呈现的食物对象都具有事件或社会舆论的指代意义,比如IE爆米花=电影,汉堡包=世界经济中好的部分。
ZEST:What do you think the relationship of food and art?
Ed Bing Lee:Humor first of all then the food I have chosen are emblematic of events or social comments, IE popcorn=movies, burger=good in the global economy
3. ZEST:一般来说你如何完成你的作品?有哪些有趣体验可以分享的?
Ed Bing Lee: 每件作品都是从绘制草图开始,一般一次只专心做一件,每个作品大概都需要3-4周时间来完成。
ZEST:Generally, how do you complete your work(from idea to finished) ? Is there any interesting experience to share?
Ed Bing Lee:Work starts with sketching and generally one piece at a time, each one requiring 3 to 4 weeks.
4. ZEST:你完成这个系列的过程中最有趣的是甚么?
Ed Bing Lee: 应该说最有趣的是结构,制作每件作品之前都要考虑周详,因为编织到结尾部分时都要保证线头可以完美的隐藏到结构里而不影响整体美观。所有作品都是中空的,所以对编织技巧要求很高,完成时必须能够撑起作品的形状。
ZEST:What's the most interesting thing when you creating this work?
Ed Bing Lee:the structure, each has to plan and built so that the loose ends can be fed back into the piece itself so the ends are not visible.all work is hollow so the knotting technique must be considered to maintain the shape when completed.
5. ZEST:有人说吃什么,像什么,你怎么看这句话?
Ed Bing Lee: 在现实中也许真是这样,而从艺术的角度说,技巧是沟通的介质,心灵选择沟通的内容,之后眼睛实现沟通过程。
ZEST:Someone said that you are what you eat,what do you think about it?
Ed Bing Lee:Perhaps in the real world.In art: it is passion for the work, the skill in handling the medium, the mind to select what is important for communication, and then the eye forthe presentation.

Ed Bing Lee: 精神,意识,希望和欲求。
ZEST:what does imagination mean to you?
Ed Bing Lee:Spirit, consciousness, hope, and desire

Ed Bing Lee:好的艺术品能在想法、概念和视觉的角度和观众产生交流 ;总之明晰的沟通可以带来启发、教导和分享。

Ed Bing Lee:communication either in the idea, concept and visual, in short: clarity in communication which may enlighten, teach, and share.

Ed Bing Lee:我刚完成了一个叫茶碗的系列,新作品在编织方式上做了新的探索,采用了新的材料, 我试图以一种不同的方式创建一个三维形式,并且通过新的途径来实现结构、装饰和设计的目的。
ZEST:What is your next step?
Ed Bing Lee:I have just finished a new series titled Chawan,the series is an exploration of new ways to knot, new materials, and new ways in the creating a 3 dimensional form and different ways to utilize the ends as structure,decoration, design.
