Hydropower station draft tube, box culvert and other hydraulic structures often used as elastic foundation on the framework of calculation. When the rod section is larger, the influence of shear deformation and node stiffness must be considered. The calculation of the general thick section structure has been discussed in detail in [1] and [2]. This article only discusses some problems in the calculation of the thick section structure on the elastic foundation. Flexible foundation on the structure, according to the structural requirements and bearing capacity of the foundation, often make the floor closed or separate, see figure
