2009年,柏拉图(428-347B.C)离开这个世界已经2356年,而他的著作《理想国》至今还摆在世界各大图书馆的书架上,拥有很多读者。柏拉图是苏格拉底的学生,苏格拉底被处死后,他离开雅典漫游十二年,逐渐形成了理想国的构想。漫游中,他不断向政要们陈述主张,但处处碰壁,自己也被卖为奴隶。等他恢复自由之身回到雅典时年已四十,只好安下心来,一边办学一边著述。《理想国》就是他在这期间的第一部著作。
In 2009, Plato (428-347B.C) left the world for 2356, and his book, The Nation of Idealism, is still on the shelves of the world’s major libraries and has many readers. Plato was a student of Socrates, Socrates was executed, he left Athens roaming for twelve years, and gradually formed the ideal of the idea. During the roaming, he kept making statements to the dignitaries, but he ran into trouble and he himself was sold as a slave. When he returned to Athens when he recovered his freedom, he was forty years old. He had no choice but to settle down while running school. The Republic was his first book in the meantime.
