Objective: To explore the related factors of the development of diabetic retinopathy. Methods: Endostlin1 (ET1), cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and nitric oxide synthase (cAMP) in retinal tissue were detected at the 4th, 6th, 12th and 16th weeks after streptozotocin- Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cyclic guanine monophosphate, cGMP) content was tested. Results: The levels of ET1 in retinal tissue of diabetic rats in each stage were significantly higher than those in control group. The cAMP content and cAMP / cGMP ratio in diabetic rats were significantly lower than those in control group. Conclusion: The occurrence and development of diabetic retinopathy may be related to the retinal microcirculation dysfunction and metabolic disorder caused by elevated ET1 levels in the hyperglycemic retina.
