天波超视距雷达是利用高频无线电波经电离层反射,能探测到距离大于3000公里的自然目标与人为目标。近来,天波超视距雷达的遥感技术在一些国家中已有了进展。本文阐明天波超视距雷达的一些特点,并介绍美国国际斯坦福研究所(SRI)管理的世界上最先进的天波超视距雷达概貌,还指出了天波超视距雷达的一些应用例子及各国研制动向。
Sky-wave over-the-horizon radar is the use of high-frequency radio waves reflected by the ionosphere, can detect more than 3000 km away from the natural and man-made goals. Recently, the sky-wave over-the-horizon radar remote sensing technology has made some progress in some countries. This article illustrates some of the features of the sky-wave over-the-horizon radar and introduces the world’s most advanced sky-wave over-the-horizon radar profile managed by the U.S. International Stanford Research Institute (SRI). It also points out some examples of applications for sky-wave over- trend.
