比较观察各两个抗黑斑病和感黑斑病种的玫瑰叶面物理特征发现:蔷薇黑斑被盘菌的孢子在前者(刺梨和光叶蔷薇)的叶片上不能萌发;而在后者(‘Electron’杂种和‘Pascadi’杂种)的叶片上可以萌发,其芽管可穿过叶片的角质层。观察还发现:抗黑斑病的刺梨和光叶蔷薇叶面或被不同型的薄蜡层浓密覆盖,或只有零星分布的蜡状颗粒;而感病的两个杂交种的叶片表皮细胞上覆盖有细小的丝状物,并连结成网状,但经电镜扫描证实,上述的叶面物理差异,并不能构成明显的形态屏障。
