The gastropods in Shangdonggou and Haoling of the Ruyang Basin of Henan Province are mainly composed of Mesocochliopa, Scaevicochlea, Bithynia, Proauricula, Zaptychius, Physa, Gyraulus, Pseudarinia and Reesidella multilaminate xiazhuangensis Pan and Zhu , Bithynia is relatively large, and Gyraulus and flap fossils are the most abundant. The gastropod fauna is very similar to the gastropods in the Xiazhuang Formation of Xishan in Beijing, Fuxin of Fuxin in Liaoning Province and the Miaogou Group of the Chaoshui Basin in Inner Mongolia and should be classified into Mesocoshliopa cretacea-Zaptychius costatus-fossil Reesidella multilaminate xiazhuangensis Pan and Zhu populations, dating from the Early Cretaceous (Aptian-Albian period). The gastropod fauna may inhabit muddy soils and flood waters and floodplains.
