Wenatchee, Washington, as the capital of Apple, is better known than mine as a mining town. It is now the Cannon gold mine - home to the second-largest underground gold mine in the United States. The mine infrastructure investment was 54 million U.S. dollars, 487,065 short tons (1 short ton = 0.9072 tons) in 1987, 137,817 ounces (1 ounce = 31.1035 grams) and 188,407 ounces of silver, with an average ore grade of 10.56 grams / t. The Cannon Gold Mine is owned and operated by two Canadian companies, Asamera Minerals US Inc. and Breakwater-Resultants. Asamela Corporation owns 51% of the shares and is the managing partner.
