:2 0世纪三四十年代 ,是李健吾话剧创作的鼎盛时期。数量众多 ,创作风格稳定 ,艺术特色鲜明 ,标志着作家创作的成熟。健吾剧作以开掘人物灵魂而别具价值 ,塑造众多的性格迥异、文化内含丰富的群体形象 ,填补我国现代文学为人生艺术领域的一个空白。变革中国戏剧情节结构的传统方法 ,发挥性格推动戏剧情节的西方艺术优点 ,表现为错综复杂的线索和激烈的矛盾冲突 ,使剧情大开大阖、想落天外 ,大大强化艺术感染力量。与曹禺一样 ,李健吾是推动我国话剧成熟和发展的至关重要的作家。中国现代文学史应予以客观、公正的历史评价 ,话剧巨匠历史寂寞的现象不能再继续下去了。
