There is a vast and magical desert in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin within the three counties of Jijiar, Changjizhou, Qitai and Mulei in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This is Kalamaili Mountain Nature Reserve. There are not only a large number of rare hoofed wildlife, but also a large number of paleontological fossils. Among them, in a desert and semi-desert area about 70 km wide and 200 km long from east to west and covering an area of nearly 20,000 square kilometers, there are hundreds of marine fossils distributed between 150 million years ago and 800 million years ago Terrestrial biofuels. This open and gentle fossil corridor, by experts as “quasi-East Hanhai Park,” “Prehistoric Museum.” It is of great importance to people studying geophysics and paleontology. The silicified wood we are involved in is precisely the outstanding representative of many fossils.
