“Anti-war” is a consistent theme in the creation of the novel by American famous Chinese writer Maxine Hong Kingston, whether it is the original “Woman Warrior” or “Chinese” or later “Monkey King his false book”, “Fifth Peace Book” and recently published The “veterans of war, veterans of peace” and the theme of “anti-war” have been transformed from obscurity to transparency and from objective representation to profound torture. When we look back at the “anti-war” tradition in American novels, we find the uniqueness of the theme of “anti-war” in his novels, not only in the novel form of her “postmodern novel.” But also because she started from the personal experience of the Chinese in the United States, she narrated the war in a recorded way and reflected the war in his dual cultural identity. More importantly, she narrates history as paying attention to the present, influencing the present and changing the American people who were shrouded in revenge and fear after 9.11. Of course, this requires tremendous courage and wisdom. Her novels, especially the Fifth Peace Book, epitomize her search for the wisdom and peace of the anti-war wisdom from oriental culture, especially Chinese culture.
