山西省临汾市城西散落着引人注目的元代戏台。分别是魏村牛王庙戏台、王曲村东岳庙戏台、东羊村后土庙戏台。魏村牛王庙戏台位于吕梁山麓,始建于元代至元二年,即公元1283年。戏台前檐高11.05米,后檐高15.80米;四角立柱,前檐的两个角柱为方形石雕;台宽7.45米,进深7.55米,进深略大于台宽,平面近似正方形;两山墙后部设有铺柱,柱后山墙与后墙一体成形;柱后山墙深2.7米,大致是进深的三分之一。王曲村东岳庙戏台东邻汾河。戏台结构与魏村戏台大致相同。台身四角立柱,宽深各7.27米,成正方形。两侧山墙亦有辅
