Each year, there are about 3,500 cases of accidental swallowing button cells in the United States alone. If you have not taken a long time, the battery will cause burning on the stomach. Not long ago, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Sheffield in the UK, and Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan developed a miniature, robot-like hand-made product. The robot is sealed inside the ice sac and the ice pack melts as it enters the stomach and the robot can unfold like a origami hand. Moreover, it can be manipulated by an external magnetic field, sticking along the wall of the intestine or the stomach wall by stick-slip movement, relying on friction and center of gravity changes. By this means, the robot can remove the foreign body in the stomach without the need of a surgical operation.
