Bentley 等曾用可以与水混和的脂族醇类作为层析氨基酸的展开剂。他们发现各氨基酸的 R_f 值随醇分子中碳原子数的增大而减小。Lederer 对无机阳离子会作了相似的实验,得到类似的结果。Sommer 在他最近的著作中也提起过这一问题。但 Lederer 的报告中仅用过乙醇、异丙醇、正丁醇和正戊醇等四种醇。Sommer 也没有用此戊醇更高的同系物。本文作者用十四种不同的低级脂族醇分别使各种阳离子在滤纸上展开,观测了它们的移动率。
Bentley et al. Used aliphatic alcohols that can be mixed with water as developing solvent for chromatographic amino acids. They found that the Rf value of each amino acid decreases with the increase of the number of carbon atoms in the alcohol molecule. Lederer conducted a similar experiment on inorganic cations, giving similar results. Sommer also raised this issue in his recent book. However, Lederer’s report used only four alcohols: ethanol, isopropanol, n-butanol and n-amyl alcohol. Sommer also did not use this pentanol higher homologs. The authors used fourteen different lower aliphatic alcohols to spread various cations on filter paper and observe their mobility.
