The AN / APG-66 is a digital multi-function fire control radar that is the primary sensor on the F-16. This article describes the detection performance and the false alarm performance of this radar when operating in the mode of medium pulse repetition frequency (MPRF) Doppler. The clutter at the time of MPRF, signal processing of AN / APG-66 radars and various types of flight tests for acquiring performance, computer simulations of radar and calibration of such simulations are also presented. The test performance introduced is based on the flight test and the flight test calibration simulation output. False alarm performance is based on flight tests, the article also discussed the various causes of false alarms.
