Adriana Richie is a contemporary American poet and critic who brings together multiple identities: mothers, poets, politicians and others. Since the 20th century, there have been more and more studies of the works of Ritchie, but most of them focus on feminist thoughts and forms of poetry creation. However, they rarely explore their poems from the perspective of social psychology. Since Rich’s poetry often implies identity “anxiety ” emotion, she is always in the process of seeking the ideal spiritual home because of identity anxiety. Therefore, this article combines the theory of anxiety and Rich’s poetry to try to find out the identity anxiety shown in Ricci’s poetry.
