传统上对语码转换的研究主要关注语码转换的社会意义与功能、心理语言模式及其所涉及到的语法问题。本文探讨如何从儿童的语码转换中看移民的母语保持和语言替代本课题通过调查发现,尽管孩子的家庭背景、父母的工作性质及英语水平不尽相同,但在家庭日常对话中,如果父母使用英语,孩子的英语使用量将急剧增加,而且孩子在语言选择上有“升级”现象。结合其他分析,我们认为家庭是母语习得的出发点,也是移民环境下母语保持的最后堡垒。当地语言逐渐进入家庭,严重威胁着母语,也许意味着语言迁移的开始。
Traditionally, research on code-switching mainly focuses on the social meaning and function of code-switching, the psychological language model and the grammatical problems involved. This article explores how to understand immigrants’ mother tongue maintenance and language substitution from the codification of children’s subject. The survey found that although the children’s family background, the nature of their work and the English proficiency are different, in the daily conversation of the family, if the parents In English, children’s English usage will increase drastically, and children may “upgrade” their language choices. In combination with other analyzes, we consider that the family is the starting point for mother tongue acquisition and the last bastion of mother tongue retention in the immigrant context. The gradual entry of local language into the home, a serious threat to the mother tongue, may mean the beginning of the language transfer.
